Life Archive is a personal, self-hosted application for recording and preserving life stories.
Data Collection
- Voice/video recordings of interview sessions
- Transcripts generated from recordings
- A personal profile built from interview content (name, key facts, life events)
Data Usage
- All data is stored locally on the user's own device
- Interview content is sent to third-party AI services (Anthropic Claude or OpenAI) solely for generating interview responses and speech audio
- Phone numbers are used solely to send optional daily interview reminders via SMS through Twilio
Data Sharing
- Personal data is never sold, shared with third parties, or used for marketing purposes
- Third-party services (Anthropic, OpenAI, Twilio) receive only the minimum data required to provide their services
SMS Messages
- SMS reminders are only sent to users who explicitly enable them in application settings
- Users can stop receiving messages at any time by setting
SMS_ENABLED=falsein their configuration - Message frequency: maximum one message per day
